The Department of Electronic Engineering is located at
La Trobe University's Bundoora campus, in Melbourne, Australia.

The Department offers excellent undergraduate courses, postgraduate courses and research opportunities. Members of staff are involved in a range of consulting work and industry linked projects.

Undergraduate Courses
The Department awards a range of Bachelor of Engineering, Bachelor of Technoloy and Double degrees. Outstanding features of our undergraduate courses are

  • Dedicated teaching staff committed to excellence in teaching,

  • Courses which are focused on Electronic Engineering from first year,

  • Specialization from third year in Biomedical, Communications, Electronic Systems or Optical Engineering.

  • Project work at each year level so that students can develop design skills throughout their courses,

  • Laboratory work as an integral part of the courses at every year level,

  • Range of practical and theoretical final year projects available, including some industry sponsored projects,

  • Well equipped electronic and computer laboratories,

  • Computer aided design, computer based hardware (embedded processors) and computer based simulation
    tools used extensively throughtout the course.

Postgraduate Opportunities
The Department offers a wide range of postgaraduate programs by coursework, research or a combination of both. Scholarships are available for some programs for well-qualified applicants.

Research Strengths
The Department provides an excellent research enviroment for staff and postgraduate students. Our research spans both pure and applied research in a number of areas of electronic engineering. Research in the Department is supported by a number of research grants. Recent research has resulted in many publications in international journals and at international conferences and two patent applications.
